I would definitely recommend this book, it teaches a life lesson about forgiveness, has a good plot line, and has a little love story. I would definitely recommend this book to women. Men can read it, but I'm going to guess that most wont. This is appealing to a younger audience too. Most people like to read books with the main characters of the same age. I mean I see most high school girls reading Nicholas Spark's books lately. Sure older women can too, and I'm sure they do. I just see some of his books to be more appealing to a younger female audience. Nicholas Sparks did a great job with writing this book. He had me hooked from the beginning and all the way to the end. The way he made a twist in the end was surprising, definitely sad, but at the same time it was a good surprising. It let me know the book wasn't over yet, and that it wasn't going to be boring until the very end.
